Fuel Your Ambition

“Ambition is the path to success, persistence is the vehicle you arrive in”  William Eardley IV.

Progress is being made…after a dismal performance on my 12 mile run last weekend I put in some much needed preparation and planning this week. I remembered what my old house master used to say at the beginning of the exam season, “Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance” and this weekend never has a saying been more true!

Last week I did 12 miles in 2 hours 35 minutes. Slow by any standards however I had set off with only 2 boiled eggs in my stomach in addition to my earphones running out of batteries forcing me on a silent run.

This week the game was changed. Porridge, bananas & honey for breakfast, combined with an energy bar half way through my  run, plenty of water in the backpack and all accompanied by Ibiza club classics saw me smash my time last week by 20 minutes.

12 miles completed in 2 hours 14 minutes. The walker now becomes the runner and if I can train to maintain that pace for the Isle of Wight I will be on track to finish within 14 hours.

Another positive by product of todays improvements is a very happy and tired spaniel.

Thank you to those of you who helped fuel the fire by donating this week and for those that are still to donate or pledge please help motivate me for my next run of 22 miles this weekend by donating HERE or send me a message pledging your amount payable in January 2018 upon successful completion.
